Craftlink organizes export sales to buyers around the world, as well as operating a shop in Hanoi.
Craftlink only works with artisan groups that meet fair trade criteria, such as fair wages, good working conditions and environmental safety. The organization aims to work as closely as possible with the artisans, and gives preference to marginalized groups, such as ethnic minorities, street children and people with disabilities. Any profits from sales are used to train the artisans in product design and business skills. Craftlink works a variety of artisans producing a wide range of high quality handicrafts. Examples include stone carving by produced a group of homeless people in Hanoi, a quilting group of handicapped and disadvantaged girls and Black Thai, Nung and Ta Oi ethnic minorities from remote areas of Vietnam, who have adapted their traditional weaving and embroidery to the international market, with Craftlink’s assistance.
